sugoi, ne! kyou wa ii tenki, desu ne?

my new bike is wonderful.
time it takes to drive to the gym: 10 minutes
time it takes to bike to the gym: 17 minutes
time it takes to drive to toyoura JHS: 10 minutes
time it takes to bike to toyoura: 17 minutes
this morning was wonderful. it's great to see the sunshine, get some fresh air, and feel invigorated first thing in the morning. it just sets your day off right. i passed groups of Nakaura shougakko kids walking to school, with their bright yellow caps and hard backpacks. when they saw me they flashed their wide-eyed grins and shouted, "Justine sensei!!! Ohayo gozaimasu!" "Ohayo gozaimasu!" i shouted behind me as i passed them in an instant, grinning because their cute smiles are contagious. the water-filled rice paddies are glittering in the sunshine, and the mountains are so clear and visible it's possible to see the clouds streaming around them. a morning such as this can keep you smiling for a long time.

yeah....i would consider it. of course that was the time i was planning on going to canada for a visit but of course nothing's set in stone. i suppose it's been several years since we've seen the popster and only one since i've seen the rest of you. but then, when would i go home? dunno, we'll sort it out. guess u have to get your ticket soonish if you're going in august. it's just that springtime is such a nice time to visit holland...but yeah, that's still another year away and, well - u know it's probably best to go sooner rather than later.
did you hear about the swimming pool?

i am continually amazed that the rice paddies are still so breathtakingly lovely to me, i cannot devour them enough, such visual yumminess...

marijke: MARAIKA

swimming pool. yes. he needed to soak himself in sea salts for his skin, and you know those dutch bathrooms don't have tubs so he went and bought an inflatable kiddie pool from the elocoff...and filled it in the living room to soak. actually pretty ingeneous.
