i hate mondays...
…especially when the Monday in question is a cold, drab, miserable grey day typical of this cloudy ken. I’m so ridiculous – I couldn’t even enjoy my whole Sunday off yesterday because of the foreboding feeling of dread with regards to coming to school today. I kept telling myself it’s never as bad when I actually get here, but now, in the morning, before my three classes of the day, I feel as though maybe it is. Plus I’m all stressed out now because my teacher’s are telling me they don’t think I can carry nenkyu over from last year when I was totally counting on it – and saving days accordingly. Granted, I know I’m super lucky to have had the summer off and my BOE don’t owe me ANYTHING, but the opportunity to choose one’s day’s off is much more valuable to me – especially when I want the opportunity to travel home to Canada for the first time in a year and a half when my brother’s baby is born in the spring. I probably won’t find this out for a couple of days so just nail biting till then…
how is everyone else???
how is everyone else???

j, like i said in the email, more than likely you can carry 12 days(in daily not hourly units) according to your contract so don't worry. yes, all contrcats are different but in 99%
of cases this is the case. ok i have no solid figures!but the 99 % is my personal estimation going on my three years here! don't worry you'll get your nenkyu from last year. usually i would be in agreement with on on the whole monday thing but today i am over the moon because i have daikyu and better still so does tom. yay! we went to spicy market last night, had a lovely evening and now he is snoring next door, bliss!
anyway, remember only 6 hrs left in school this shitty monday and then you're out of there;-)

hey bean,
yes, a thoroughly miserable day, but at least we're not roasting in the classrooms. nevertheless, i am torturing my students with my boring self-intro. almost all of my students fell asleep :) how are your classes going today?
anyway, i think that polly and laura are into nagoya so it looks like driving is going to work... and it should be fun..........
hope your nenkyu situation works out!
ttyl,
tam
kell, i'm super happy and relieved. thanks so much. that's worked out so awesomely that you and tom both got daikyu on the same day.
girls night - can you come tonight? where shall we do it? niigata? at lindsay's castle???
tambo - wicked about nagoya. i'll work on finding a hotel ASAP.
and dude, DON'T WORRY about your self-intros. we all hate them and probably we can all give our own horror stories. everyone goes through it, most of the time i always have at LEAST 4-5 students asleep. i usually LIKE it when they're asleep cuz at least they're not being loud and talking over me. i told you about my first ever self intro class right? the entire lesson there was this one evil boy (and, slightly psychotic i imagine) who ran around the class, yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs, repeating everything i said, throwing his books at other boys, hitting kids on the head, drawing chalk all over the tv...and the worst part was the my jte didn't do anything except say, 'please continue and just ignore him'.
so, you have internet at school???
-bean.
mondays.......
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
bean,
ya you told me about that class... quel nightmare... nothing too disastrous like that happened today, only one minor incident involving me tripping over the projector cord (at which the whole class & teacher had a good laugh, so perhaps it was a good thing). anyway, youre right, the more i do them, the less stressful these self-intro things become...
so ya, with nagoya, im for sure going to go but im just waiting on a definate answer from both polly and laura. they both seem really keen but we might want to wait a day or two to book the hotel... ill talk to them tonight and let you know.
oh and ya, ive got the net at school now, and not a whole lot to do, so feel free to msn/e-mail.
ttyl,
tam
which laura, tam?
ok, i'll hold off on the hotel but we really have to do it ASAP so you guys can get a room.
were you on msn today? i didn't see you but maybe i don't have the right address for you.
Justine, your gloomy sunday feeling - worried about monday - sounds like I felt the last couple of months at Manulife. As soon as it was SATURDAY AFTERNOON I would start to get stressed out about Mondays. I couldn't enjoy the weekend because I felt like I had to enjoy every last drop of it, and that itself was stressful. This new job is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER.
nico! that's so great that you're enjoying ur new job so much more.
did you hear i've booked my ticket to holland???
