camp myoko! mountain mama!
just back from a 3 day sleepover english camp in myoko, a mountainous resort area of southern niigata prefecture. there were 6 group leaders - kat and me, cassanova, chris, rich and will. we each had a group of 7 kids aged 8 - 13. it was exhausting but lots of fun. for the most part, the kids were great and it was nice to be up in the mountains. however, due to (supposed?) heavy rains yesterday, the train back was delayed for over 3 hours (we were stuck on it), and a less than 4 hour journey home took us over 7.5...
highlight of the camp was one of my kids, 'ryo'...who, due to his always happy, genki, hyper and craziness, was everyone's favourite little kun...
we all waved him goodbye from the train as his father looked on, proud and with a huge smile across his face.
