a japanese thanksgiving

i was invited to the home of one of my eikaiwa students for what she called a "japanese thanksgiving". her family are farmers so i suppose it was kind of like a harvest celebration. her family owns an enormous 125 year old farmhouse which had screens and wood detail which used to be housed in the original shibata castle. very impressive. tomoks and i were wined and dined by several sake-fied old men haha.
