this reminds me of the time when i was about six years old. my family had rented a cabin during the winter on a big lake. one day we walked across it to the other side to go hiking. halfway across i decided that i wanted to go back, and turned around. i started walking back and then suddenly i was so disoriented, didn't know which way the cabin was. i burst into tears until i found our friends, who were ice fishing on the lake. they offered me a piece of gum to make me feel better, but i refused because it was lent. but now i'm thinking to myself...do i have this story confused in my mind? because if it were lent, would the ice still be frozen? Posted by Picasa

pretty commendable Justine - re Lent I mean.. yes because Lent ends at Easter and it is 40 days before that so it could easily have been very cold. Anyway, that was in Algonquin Park which is colder.
