saturday kat, pamela and i drove to shirone for the giant kite battle on the river. we took in about 30 minutes of festival atmosphere until we were thunderstormed-out and went back to shibata (not a good idea to fly a kite in a lightening storm i suppose).
later, the weather cleared up a bit and we went to ijimino park for a little walk around the grounds. we then met kazuya, jon, miho, tomoko and miko for some drinks at uotami izakaya...
