i met tom and rachel at the airport on friday afternoon. i took them to our hotel in shinjuku and after dumping the bags wandered around for a bit. we were at the kabukicho side which meant plenty of hostess (and host) bars for tom to marvel at. they were entranced by the jpns guys in pointy toed white aligator boots, tight pants, and spikey mullets. (you know i've been here too long when i thought at least one or two of them were cute...!) neon lights, love hotels, don kihote's...you know the stuff.
saturday we were up early and headed to ueno market, followed by meiji shrine, yoyogi park, lunch in harajuku, and then dinner in shibuya.
sunday we went to asakusa which was nice for me since i'd never been to those shrines before. we packed a ton in and by the time we took the shink back to niigata they were knackered!
