the road less travelled

We then woke up at the proper time, and hauled into the car. The trip to seim reap was really off the beaten track. We passed through little villages on the bumpy dirt roads. We often had to break for cows and goats and chickens and whatever else decided to cross the street. We stopped for breakfast in a little dirtside foodstop. I looked up in my Cambodian phrasebook to ask for coffee and bread. All of the ‘houses’ along the way were just tiny bamboo shacks built on stilts. Garbage was everywhere. it’s a major problem in Cambodia as they seem to have absolutely no concept of not littering. If they finished a drink they would just toss the plastic bottle on the road beside them. I have never seen so much garbage everywhere.
